Tobey is fine. Hooray!
The vet called me around 10:30am yesterday and said that, since he got into some chocolate chip cookies over the weekend, the chocolate gave him a nasty case of gastritis. So no killer doggy germ! YEA! He even got to come home the same day!
He was a little dehydrated, so the vet people gave him a fluid IV and some other IV medications. He’s now on a special dog food to help this stomach get back on track and he’s also on a medication to help regulate his, well, um…poop.
The one thing that is concerning me a bit is he won’t take water. I mean, he is drinking, but not water. We’ve been giving him a mix of water and milk and he drinks that fine; but when I show him a water dish, he backs away, almost like he’s scared of it. We’ll work on the water thing in a few days, right now, I’m just glad he’s getting fluids.
I feel so relived! If we lost him… I’m just glad he’s doing better.
