I see this and I am outraged.
Many people, including family members have told me that things like this are 'an insult to my intelligences' yet have nothing to back it up; but I know that these coments are the truth. I stand by them.
If anyone can find evidence to the contrary, I will reconsider changing my stand. If not, listen closely.

Bummer-ish/Good-ish
Monday I had my annual physical with blood work and that showed that my thyroid is under active.
I'm having a lot of mixed emotions right now. I'm super relieved, because I honestly was expecting something a lot worse... but at the same time I'm a little shocked! I mean, I never would have in a million year guessed that it was my thyroid that was making me feel lousy.
I've been feeling kind of punk for quite some time now (over two years), but one of these can't quite-put-my-finger-on-what-isn't-feeling-good kind of punk, so I thought it may have been mental and just kept fighting it. Honestly, when I was pregnant, I felt the most well, because I was getting some help from Sean's thyroid.
This may not make a whole lot of sense, but now that I know what is wrong, I feel like I can give myself permission to feel kind of punk. I know that it's something I can't fight and I have a huge weight off my shoulders knowing it's not mental. I feel like... I'm not really sure.
I've been prescribed medication to correct the low levels and have to go back to have the levels checked in six weeks. I'm actually looking forward to it.
I'm looking forward to feeling well again...

Where did Sean Go?
Don't worry, Sean is still at home, safe in his cribby.
However if you want to see how Sean is doing and other family updates, he has his own blog right here. So update your links to his page and keep in touch!

Here in Iowa, the Supreme Court has ruled that gay marriage should be allowed. Starting today, same sex couples are now able to attain a marriage license legally. And I do not agree with the Courts ruling.
What I do agree with is that these are people too and do have some of the legal rights as a married couple (i.e. power of attorney, right to be with dyeing partner); but, by my personal beliefs, the insinuation should not be called marriage.
God, the one power that our nation was founded under, clearly stated that marriage is to be between one man and one woman. Our nation has strayed so far from the principal of “One nation, under God” that I know when God looks at us, and I am no exception, He weeps with sorrow for His children.
I just saw a commercial in support of the courts rulings; there was a line that stated “If there are Iowans out there who want to put discrimination into our constitution: shame on them!” If I were a county clerk or state official and a same sex couple came to me asking for a marriage license or of the likes - I would decline, even though as of the moment it is not legal to deny a same sex couple a license of the moment (there are people who are ironing out a “morality clause” to protect those who will not issue a license). I do not care about losing a job or discrimination (isn’t it funny how it’s not PA to discriminate/make fun of/harass people of a same sex orientation, but if you oppose or disagree with that lifestyle, you can be discriminated/made fun of/harassed?):

The Picard Song
I love this song to a fault! The really scary thing is I Know just about every episode that they used in this video!
My father introduced me to Star Trek: TNG when I was three and I've been hooked for 20 years now.
